So... aliens from the planet Akvatar are the ones responsible for all the bermuda triangle disappearances, pulling hapless victims err helpers to the bottom of the ocean, making them able to breathe underwater. If they were to, ahem, help the aliens to find the pearl of poseidon that will save the aliens planet they would be sent back up to the surface....And if they chose not to help, well, they would be stuck at the bottom of the ocean forever. (Can they continue to breath forever if they chose not to help anymore?). Sprill has been in two hidden object adventures, and also a puzzle marble popper called Sprill: Aqua Adventures that was given away before on GOTD on Sept 9,2023.

This one is more on the intermediate+ level as the items can be well hidden so probably not the best for true beginners as there is also a limited number of hints in each location plus an extra hint might be found if you can locate a ?. I recommend to uncheck widescreen as it appears the setting might be reversed as a bug, so needs to be unchecked to go widescreen which will make it easier to see, and adjust the resolution to the highest. The objects to search changes upon a new game so there is a bit of replay. Overall a nice basic HOG, and if I were beta testing I'd look at some other sound effects as some sound like I was stuck in a sub in the movie 'Das Boot' waiting for my sub to be pinged, or watching Predator hearing the clicking about to get me, or leaving the faucet on... Certainly not relaxing but can be lowered or even turned off and the gameplay is ok. I just miss the zoom in/out and magnifying glass in some of the more modern releases. Overall more plus's than minuses so worth a play and thankful I wont leave Sprill at the bottom of the ocean. For those others, perhaps trying something recent thats good...and for a christmas theme how about Christmas Stories: The Legend of Toymakers.

I just played a bit and it is a fairly basic HOG with some fun mini-games. There are no choices for game mode, it is all untimed and rather than the usual timed hints activation, you get 5 hints per HOG scene which I actually like. Check out the reviews over at the BigFish link above, they tell it better than I can. Of the 6 reviews, 4 recommend the game, 2 do not, giving it a 3.5 average. If you enjoy HOGs, I'd recommend getting this just to have something different. It's a lighter theme as opposed to the familiar dark, horror type HOGs and because of that and its cartoonish feel, might even be a good one for the kiddies.

Thanks to the Toomky and GGOTD teams for this.

Can someone please say whether or not there is a "casual" or "relaxed" mode available in this game? I hate HOGs where the only option is "timed," and Lawrence's comment implies there is no option for "non-timed." Thanks!

Bad form to reply to oneself, I know (!), but this isn't truly a "timed" HOG in the usual sense, because the HOG scenes — and the minigames/puzzles — don't ever appear to time out, unless anyone knows different?

The first target time in each level (?gold) is shown with a red/gold symbol beside it. If you pass that time without completing the scene/game, a second target time (?silver) is set, indicated by a grey/silver symbol. If you pass the second target time without completing the scene/game, no further target times are set, though the game still keeps a clock running.

I have no idea if, or how, the targets affect gameplay, but the main takeaway is that levels DON'T time out, as I have experienced with other HOGs (e.g. >cough< Wondershare).

The titular fox cub character, Sprill, isn't overly annoying, and I admit to a smile when he shakes his head after a "wrong" click.

Yes, hints are sparse and hard to obtain, but completing levels does restore them from time to time. And yes, some objects can seem "impossible" to find, but all are fair IMHO. (Pro Tip: When totally stuck, press Win-plus to enable Magnifier, Win+Esc to turn it off again. ;) )

Very hard to find hidden objects. You get timed & hints run out fast.
